Meet the Artists

Meet the six six extraordinary Latin American women who have brought their rich cultural heritage and personal experiences to The Netherlands. Each artist offers a unique perspective and distinctive style, exploring themes of transformation, nature, and the power of the Sun. Meet the artists and their works that celebrate the beauty of change and renewal.

Alejandra Medina

Mexico

Alepaints, is an oil painter, who captures human essence, focusing on facial expressions. With an engineering background, she infuses surrealism, technology, and beauty, inviting exploration of art, science, and imagination.

Mildred Arizpe-Vicencio

Mexico

Mixed media artist, educator and writer residing in the Netherlands. Combines fantasy, mythology, science fiction, and folklore with keen interest in science and nature. Featured in "Mermaids Monthly" and "Beneath the Waves." Utilizes markers, inks, watercolor, and explores other mediums.

Yma Sumac Gonzales

Peru

Multidisciplinary artist; her work is strongly influences by her childhood in the Peruvian Andes.  Her works is full of metaphorical elements, through which the artist opens the doors of her inside world and lets us see what lives in her, through a rich range of colors and suggestive shapes.

Patricia Franco

Peru

Patricia, with a background in Communication Science and Visual Arts, exhibits internationally. Inspired by pre-Colombian symbology and Peruvian landscape, her art merges abstract style with native American folklore, exploring spirituality and human existence.

Laura Mendez

Colombia

interdisciplinary artist, began in theater, then ventured into audiovisuals and pole art. Passion for storytelling drives exploration through writing, movement, and textile art, promoting inclusivity, empathy, and environmental care.

Sandra Cueva

Peru

Architect and artist based in Eindhoven explores nature's connection to human life through vibrant designs and mixed techniques. She paints human bodies, creates textile paintings, and illustrates sustainable architectural landscapes, urging reflection on our interaction with nature.
