Patricia Franco

Patricia Franco is a Peruvian artist, living in the Netherlands since 2001. She has a background in Communication Science and Visual Arts at the school of fine arts of Lima. She made also studies in art restauration, ceramics, printing and hand made paper.


Since 1993 has been taking part in plenty of exhibitions in Peru and different countries like Zwitserland, Singapore, Germany and the Netherlands. Her first solo exhibition was in 1998 in Lima followed by a second in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) in 2000.

The paintings of Patricia Franco has a spiritual theme, based on symbology and mythology of the pre-columbian art from Peru and America. She gives an own interpretation to this ancient iconography and her work has influence of the native american colorful folklore.


The harmonious use of shapes and colors as well as the tendency towards an abstract style can define her work.The simbolisme as a universal language becomes an important tool to express different topics, related to spirituality, emotions and feelings trying to decipher the rol of the human being in the infinity of an immeasurable cosmos.
