Ionna Barre

“From your point of view a little away from the world, you are free to let your gaze go.”

Ionna Barré is a French creative, currently based in Eindhoven. She comes from the world of textile design: she worked as a surface pattern designer and taught in applied arts schools. In her personal artistic practice, she proposes colorful abstract landscapes.

She invites us to travel, free to let our gaze go, a little away from the world. Showing a creation is sharing thoughts and feelings. Not that easy. Not so simple either for those who observe, to make the effort to switch, to project themselves towards the universe of another human being. She hopes that sharing sensitive experiences will animate some fraternity in us.

Imagine :

You are in the air, a patient and curious observer. Leaning on a wicker wall, suspended, you drift calmly. A hot air balloon supports you. From your point of view a little away from the world, you are free to let your gaze go.

You breathe and take the time to switch in this landscape. You notice its structure, its horizontal and vertical lines which organize this territory into a multitude of colored zones.

You squint and choose your front door in this sketch of a world.

Slide, browse, walk as you please. Take the rapids, follow the waves, the curves, circulate from one tile to

another, from one field to its neighbour, at your own pace.

Linger on a scale, a detail, a bark.

The paths are open, the limits fictitious, the borders without consequences.

You are free to choose

Enjoy!
